If you are aged 18-30 and currently unemployed and registered with Job Centre Plus you are eligible for this opportunity.
The Department for Work and Pensions is the largest government department in the United Kingdom, and is responsible for welfare and pension policy.
DWP’s work experience programme is intended to support young people aged 18-30 years old, who are facing difficulty getting into work. The programme is designed to help you develop your confidence and learn new and valuable skills, and give you real, on-the-job experience of working in the Civil Service.
What does a typical placement look like?
We will help you gain greater self-confidence, and improve your organisational, communications and team working/collaboration skills – key skills that employers are looking for. We will also help you with your interview skills and CV writing. The work experience includes a personal learning journey that develops you as a leader and helps you with your wellbeing and resilience.
Supporting the Regional support team completing administrative duties such as data gathering, photocopying setting up agenda, taking notes at meetings.
What you should wear:
Comfortable, smart casual clothing is best. For example, trousers and a top, chinos and a shirt, a dress, or a skirt and top. Don’t worry if you have a limited wardrobe – we don’t judge
